We
are just a 10min drive from the pretty village of
Pedrogao Pequeno, and close to several swimming
places in the Cabril Reservoir, and Zezere River.
We live just 1km from the Resevoir, and a place
which is suitable for young children to swim under
supervision. We can also recommend other places
suitable and accessible for children. See our getting

Central
Portugal is full of old castles, churches, monasteries
and Roman ruins. We are just over an hour's drive
from Coimbra,
an
historic university city, and the Roman ruins at
Conimbriga, which have some very well preserved
mosaics.
We are also close to Tomar (45mins drive), which
has a famous Templar castle. Fatima, the place of
pilgrimage for many Catholics is also nearby. (see
photos) There are planty of local activities
available for those wanting a more active holiday.

From
both directions - Once you come onto the
IC8, drive east untl you come to
the Pedrógão Pequeno &
Oleiros (EN 350) turn off. (Please note
that you will pass two turns for Pedrogao Grande,
before you come to the Pedrogao Pequeno turn.) Once
you turn off onto the EN 350 road
to Oleiros, you will drive about 10-15mins until
you come to the left turn to Madeirã.
Turn here and follow the road into the beginning
of the village. Take the left turn signed for Sobral,
follow this road down a hill and take the
next left, white house on the corner, onto a much
smaller lane. Follow this lane around to the left,
onto a cobbled road, into a small hamlet. Continue
driving until you come to a sharp left turn. There
is a space to park here. Either gve us a call when
you arrive, or walk down the hill, through the olive
grove and small space in a fence, down onto our
property. Continue walking down past the adega,
small stone 'house' and you will come to our yurt.
We will drive our 4WD to your car to collect your
belongings and deliver them to your yurt.
